SignalShaper | About

SignalShaper (Bert de Boer) produces electronic music for at least 30 years.
This in addition to his life as professional painting/drawing artist. (he studied Art)

When he heard “John Foxx Underpass” (John Peel) in the 80s he decided to play and compose electronic music.

Inspired by Boards of Canada, Sonic Youth, Biosphere, Front 242, Gas0095, Sulpher, New Order, The Cure, Thought Forms, Joy Division, Moderat/Apparat, John Foxx, Aphex Twin, Gazelle Twin, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Autechre, The Orb, Orbital, Prodigy, Trentemøller, William Orbit, Japan (Gentlemen take Polaroids!!!), Lamb, Massive Attack, The Shamen, John Peel’s radio…, Speedy J, Junkie XL, Urban Dance Squad and so on….

After playing bassguitar in several bands, he is now working alone with his synth’s (and several guitars of course)…

The synth’s used are Clavia’s Modular G1, Micromodular and a Nord Lead 2, Korg MS-20/SQ-1 and some other older vintage stuff… (for instance a weird cheap Yamaha DX9 and a GEM PK4900!)…
SignalShapers Soundcloud contributions are mostly unfinished unmastered ideas (a first draft)…
All used instruments are played by SignalShaper…
